YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities within the organization, focusing on overseeing and optimizing site operations across various departments. The Site Manager Operations will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the operational processes, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational, supply chain customer service goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Job Description:
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Provide visionary leadership to the operations team, including Inbound and Outbound Warehouse, Fleet Services, Facilities Management, Transportation, Purchasing and Customer Service. Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, fiscal management, and financial reporting. Implement cost reduction measures and ensure fiscal discipline across all operational activities. I was not entirely involved with the financial aspect.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to Regulation respecting occupational health and safety, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Food and Drugs Act. Foster a culture of safety and compliance, minimizing risk and ensuring the security of the building, its contents, and people.
  • Customer Satisfaction and Quality Control: Champion initiatives to meet or exceed customer satisfaction goals. Oversee quality processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services across:
  • Safety: Implementing measures to prevent accidents and protect workers and others from potential harm in the workplace.
  • Health: Promoting health and well-being among employees, including preventing occupational illnesses and managing workplace health risks.
  • Environment: Minimizing environmental impact by managing waste, reducing pollution, and implementing sustainable practices.
  • Team Development and Engagement: Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing operations, purchasing and customer service management team. Foster an environment of engagement, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Technology and Innovation: Leverage technology to streamline operations and introduce innovative solutions to operational purchasing and customer service challenges. Keep abreast of industry trends and integrate best practices into operational and customer strategy.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of operations with sales, marketing, and other key functions. Maintain open lines of communication with all stakeholders, including employees, management, and customers.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and oversee emergency response and crisis management plans. Maintain liaisons with local emergency management and other entities to facilitate plan development and response coordination.
  • Labor Relations: Where applicable, oversee the interpretation, adherence to, and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. Participate in grievance or arbitration proceedings as necessary


YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations and Customer Service Management, or a closely related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of operations management experience with demonstrated progressive levels of responsibility. Experience in a senior leadership role overseeing diverse operational functions is preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
