Job Description:
V2X is seeking a Weapons Integration Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN leading development and integration of advanced software/firmware/hardware systems including store control electronics, mission computers, avionics, sensors, certification and mission equipment for airborne and ground platforms with special emphasis on experience with the Universal Armament Interface (UAI) standard.
The Senior Lead Weapons Integration Systems Engineer provides technical and programmatic leadership throughout the development life cycle, from concept development, requirements definition, functional analysis, design review support, system implementation, integration, verification, and validation. The Senior Lead Weapons Integration Systems Engineer will be a key leader within a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) and customer interface, where effective communication and team building skills are critical to success. In addition, the Senior Lead Weapons Integration Systems Engineer utilized deep domain expertise to ensure program success and work with government customers on future needs.

Required Skills:
- Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams.
- Ability to take ownership of the engineering scope within the program and drive the necessary tasks to ultimately ensure the cross-function team meets the program requirements.
- Experience leading all systems engineering tasks and cross-product activities across the program.
- Experience developing technical baselines (requirements/architecture); leading development teams; and developing and reviewing Engineering Change Requests.
- Experience leading requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.
- Experience leading the development, integration, and test of military avionics systems or similarly complex systems.
- Experience leading Trade Studies, performing Risk and Opportunity analyses, and tracking and mitigating risks.
- Comprehensive understanding the Universal Armament Interface (UAI) including ability to lead the integration of weapon systems on airborne and ground platforms.
- Experience with the design, development, and integration of UAI Type I and Type II Carriage Systems.
- Knowledge and experience working with UAI interface standards such as: MIL-STD-1553 EBR, MIL-STD-1760, and JMMI.
- Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF. Direct support of UAI JICWG is desired.
- Experience with the Carriage System development including design criteria standards (ex. MIL-STD-8591, MIL-STD-2088B)
- Experience working the front end of the business, creating/reviewing RFPs, SOWs, BOEs, technical volumes, proposals, cost, and schedule estimates.
- Experience managing suppliers and overseeing the development of subsystems and components.
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders including leading both internal and customer design reviews.
- In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Project management experience including cost, schedule, and supplier management.
- Experience supporting Government integration, ground, and flight test events (including planning, test card generation, telemetry/data acquisition systems, and system validation).
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools, and languages.
- Experience with Agile software development including previous roles as a Product Owner and/or Scrum Master.
- Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline plus:
- At least fifteen (15) years of related engineering experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering
