Job Type: Full-time year-round position Exempt/Salaried - Flexible schedule, must be available to work weekends, holidays, & special events as/when needed.

ABOUT THE JOB

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic HR role responsible for connecting the people-focused needs and the business objectives with its designated leaders and departments. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, communications skills, planning and proactivity, the ability to solve problems and deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business. The HRBP must be able to build trust with leaders and employees by showing they are able to role-model and promote our Sundance Mountain Resort (SMR) culture and values. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and food & beverage with the ability to understand the connection between people and these departments business and financial mid to long range plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supports leaders to manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment through offboarding.
  • Develops a strong understanding of their assigned departments business operations.
  • Aids assigned departments' leadership teams to design and deliver people & culture strategy and annual goals in line with their strategic priorities.
  • Develops strong relationships with respective department leadership providing guidance and asserting influence when needed.
  • Provides guidance to leaders on the application of SMR people policies, standards and employee handbook.
  • Identifies training needs for assigned departments and participates in the implementation of training to leaders and employees as needed.
  • Works closely with leadership to understand their workforce providing guidance and facilitating strategic alignment for their talent management processes like performance management, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Aid leadership in understanding labor costs and budgets to ensure that their departments are functioning with defined limits regarding fixed and variable headcount to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations when necessary.
  • Aids managers in providing motivation, coaching, and corrective action to their teams in according to Sundance standards.
  • Provides guidance to their departments helping them understand and work within employment related compliance requirements.
  • Assists leaders with employee relations for their assigned departments including but not limited to managing leave and accommodation, benefits, compensation, development, promotion.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and shares key metrics for employee engagement, training, cultural alignment, turnover and other HR metrics to share with leaders and develop solutions, guide policy, and enhance business success.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience with a proven ability to partner with leaders to achieve business results. Bachelors degree in a relevant field or demonstrated skills acquisition through relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of Power Point, word processing, Excel, and email. Proficiency in payroll/HRIS software. The ability to manage and analyze data using Excel.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification is a bonus.
