What will be your daily pursuit?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Manager to join our team. The Senior Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities and projects for eight locations on the west side of our Glacier Park Collection. This role manages a team of maintenance technicians and ensures the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.

What will you do in this job?

1.    25% Trades Maintenance and Repair

Assist with the daily maintenance of operations as needed. This includes minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry repairs. Assist with snow removal and minor Grounds work. Ensure the accurate identification of all parts required for repairs and coordinates with the timely ordering of parts and supplies. Identify, establish, and perform all necessary preventative maintenance for all building system equipment.

2.  20% Oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance Department

Develop and implement departmental operating plan.  Coordinate the efforts of the department.  Ensure excellent customer service and department follow through.  Conduct regular facility inspections.  Assess the condition and needs of the department.  Ensure department safety and training objectives are met.  Monitor efficient spending.

3.   10% Documentation and Communication (paper and electronic)

Use computer-based maintenance program to document work orders and track material usage. Follow departmental guidelines and goals. Participate in the work order dispatch system in accordance with department guidelines. Use radio for communications in accordance with department guidelines.

4.   10% Customer Service

Maintain a positive and cooperative work environment with all guests, co-workers, staff, and supervisors. Assess the needs of the department and make suggestions for continious improvement. Inform supervisors of departmental issues and problems. Respond to requests in an efficient and cooperative manner. Attend relevant meetings and training. Maintain a clean and professional appearance and be in uniform and identifiable at all times. Ensure proper entry procedures and notifications are followed.

5.  20% Training and Support

Provide training and support to staff relating to trade.  Assist with plan review for projects.  Assist with the development of project schedules.  Provide inspection and support as owner representative for projects.  Ensure that trade work meets current code compliance.

6. 15% Supervision of Staff

Assist with the identification and scheduling of necessary training to advance employee development.  Assist with the organization and prioritization of tasks.  Support and develop policies and procedures for the department.  Disseminate appropriate information to staff.  Use situation report and review to ensure good communication.  Encourage innovation and change within the department.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?
  • Requires a general contractor background, master trade's license or at least 3 years’ experience in facilities maintenance of a large property complex – preferably hotel.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising/managing employees of different skill bases.
  • Previous experience in managing large scale projects.
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills and blueprint reading skills.
  • Must possess knowledge of construction safety regulations and general building codes.
  • Carpentry, basic electrical wiring, basic plumbing and commercial kitchen equipment repair skills are required.
  • Some knowledge of State, Federal and Historical construction codes and safety regulations.
  • Good human relations skills in dealing with guests, staff, and operating management.
  • Knowledge of personal computer, email programs, applications of databases (computer maintenance management systems), project management software and spreadsheets is required.
  • Must have knowledge of and be able to use power tools. 
What will your work environment be like?
  • Work is indoors and outdoors (in changing outside temperatures/weather conditions).
  • Job requires standing, walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 50 lbs., and repetitive motions.
  • Steel-toed shoes required.
  • Non-smoking environment.
