We are hiring an Embedded Hardware Engineer, eMobility. This position is located out of Peachtree Corners GA but will be moving to Atlanta in 2025. The Hardware Engineer is responsible for EVSE PCBA design, layout and testing for Pre-compliance to UL standards. This position performs PCBA bring up activity, integration testing and support type testing and will report to R&D manger, AC EVSE, Future Grid.

The pay range for this position is $73,500 - $126,000. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

We are hiring an Embedded Hardware Engineer, eMobility. This position is located out of Peachtree Corners GA but will be moving to Atlanta in 2025. The Hardware Engineer is responsible for EVSE PCBA design, layout and testing for Pre-compliance to UL standards. This position performs PCBA bring up activity, integration testing and support type testing and will report to R&D manger, AC EVSE, Future Grid.
You will make a difference by:
- Perform analog and digital circuit design for embedded EVSE systems.
- Create PCBA Gerber file packages for prototype and production release.
- Manage release control to manufacturing via ECR and ECN processes and assist in PCBA bring up activity in factory
- Co-ordinate release packages and version control between technical teams for testing and manufacturing.
- Collaborate with marketing to gather requirements and translate to product feature specifications. Document various configurations of EVSE systems to implement use cases identified by marketing.
- Create hardware design documents derived from feature specification and regional and international compliance standards.
- Design Hardware system with complete knowledge of the software and testing requirements.
- Create Technical specifications for Design and Testing phases of product Development.
- Further contribute to Test cases development and improvement to perform hardware-software integration testing.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 yrs experience Circuit design using Simetrix SPICE
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in the following:
- PCBA design (Schematic and layout) using Altium.
- PCBA layout involving EMI/EMC considerations for type testing ( UL/ IEC)
- Power supply design and power analysis for PCBAs
- Analog front-end design to convert high voltage signals to secondary voltage levels
- Digital communication interfaces and design considerations for noise immunity and high-speed communication
- Compliance testing for EMI/EMC requirements
- Manufacturing roll-out of PCBAs (Gerber generation, Design for manufacturing etc)
- Working knowledge of real-time Embedded C applications on 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit processors
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering
- 2-5 relevant years experience in PCBA and Circuit Design
- Knowledge of UL and IEC standards for Electric Vehicle Supply equipment is desirable.
- Knowledge/Experience in Interoperability testing of EVSEs and EVs,
- Experience in Energy management, demand response and load balancing in EV Infrastructures.
- A good understanding of energy management protocols like OCPP, Open ADR etc.
- Detailed working knowledge of Control pilot communication between EVSE and EV.
- Working experience with data analytics tools/software is desired.
