Process Engineer

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
As a Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving process development, efficiency, and improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with both internal and external customers on cost-saving projects, capital expenditures, and troubleshooting. Your focus will be on optimizing material throughput, enhancing plant profitability, and refining manufacturing techniques, particularly in process robustness, coating technology, and material aspects such as yield, scrap, and material usage variance. Additionally, you will manage various projects, develop preventative and predictive methods to minimize production delays, and ensure quality. This role also involves providing leadership in problem-solving, decision-making, coaching, and implementing site initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Lead the design and development of manufacturing processes, tooling, and engineering documentation for new products, ensuring they meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend, initiate, and deliver projects aimed at improving production efficiency, equipment, and processes to achieve performance, quality, delivery, and financial goals.
- Capital Expenditures: Prepare internal documentation and coordinate the implementation of capital expenditures.
- World Class Manufacturing Projects: Lead projects from planning to implementation, including cost savings analysis, feasibility studies (DOE, data analysis), and project execution.
- Process Optimization: Research and recommend changes to manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve product quality, and enhance health, safety, and environmental standards.
Entity Specific Functions:
- Knowledge of general reporting (WCM) and safety standards.
- Understanding of BU/Corporate programs and policies.
- Familiarity with site-specific programs, policies, and risk assessments, as well as processes and operations specific to the site.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Processing, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline.
Work Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 3 years in coated film production.
Practical/Technical Knowledge:
Required:
- Experience in composite or plastic film coating, laminating, converting, and processing.
- Knowledge and experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or World Class Manufacturing.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Access, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and creatively in unforeseen circumstances.
- Familiarity with quality concepts and tools such as sampling theory, statistical analysis, quality cost reporting, DOE, Lean, DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, and Control Plans. Dedicated, self-starter with high motivation and the ability to make independent decisions.
- Familiarity with customer/supplier specifications and agreements, with the ability to apply them to site manufacturing controls and documentation.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in ERP, MES, and/or document control systems.
- Experience working in an ISO certified environment.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Preferred: Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
