Description Specialization: Family Medicine without OB Job Summary: Our ACGME accredited, established family medicine residency program is seeking additional core faculty members in Roanoke, VA. Qualified Candidates: * Board certified or board eligible in family medicine * Combination of clinical and teaching responsibilities * Join a busy outpatient practice with an opportunity for a mix of inpatient/outpatient if desired * Comfortable working with and providing oversight for advanced practice providers * Clinical faculty experience within a residency program is a plus * Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills Incentive/Benefits Package: * Competitive base salary plus bonuses * Comprehensive benefits package including health/life/dental insurance and matching 401K * Paid occurrence based malpractice insurance * Commencement bonus * Paid time off * Substantial CME and dues allowance * Relocation assistance provided Faculty Duties Include: * Demonstrate a strong interest in the education of residents * Devote sufficient time to the educational program to fulfill supervisory and teaching responsibilities * Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas. * Maintain clinical skills by providing direct patient care * Maintain an environment of inquiry and scholarship with an active research component * Regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, ambulatory care rounds, and conferences * Encourage and support residents in scholarly activities * Demonstrate scholarship by previous publications, case reports, or other presentations at local/regional/national conferences and scientific society meetings * Commit to the development of the resident medical knowledge, clinical, technical, management skills and clinical judgment; serve as an advisor to a complement of residents * Serve on the clinical competency committee and the program evaluation committee * Participate in activities which enhance professional growth and development About the Health System: * LewisGale Medical Center is a fully accredited 506-bed acute care facility * Regional leader in utilizing the latest imaging, surgical and medical technology * Serves as LewisGale Regional Health System s tertiary facility for specialized care, offering a multitude of medical and surgical specialties * Accredited Stroke Center * Accredited Chest Pain Center * LewisGale Regional Health System includes four hospitals, two cancer centers, and six outpatient centers. * We partner with hundreds of physicians both independent and employed who share our common commitment of providing superior, compassionate care and evidence-based medicine.
