The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for helping conduct cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerning /materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard. They are to keep track of Damages, Suspense, and Quarantined inventory in order to make sure that all tasks involved are handled in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.
- Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
- Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
- Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Use of motorized equipment including: Order Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-Up Reach Truck
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Involved in training of Inventory Control Clerks
- Processes Damaged material, ensures Returned Goods are properly inventoried, and monitors Suspense inventory to make certain any/all is properly researched
- Helps maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by bringing up incorrect practices to the necessary leadership
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
- Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
- Minimum 2-4 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
- Minimum 2-4 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
- Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
- Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and write emails.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
- Forklift certification a plus.
