Internal Medicine Physician

Adelphi is seeking a physician to provide care to patients at a correctional facility in Henrico, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive substance use disorder services to the inmate population among other duties. Job Quick Facts: - Ref#: BD-671-01 - Profession: Physician - Specialty: Family/Internal/Addiction Medicine - Location: Henrico, Virginia - Facility Type: Correctional Facility - Job Type: Contract - Coverage Type: Clinical - Schedule: 40 hrs/week - Contract Term: 1 year - Start Date: ASAP - Rate: $150/hr Requirements: - Active VA License - BC/BE - DEA certificate - Experience providing substance use disorder services Responsibilities: - Provide substance use disorder services to inmates. - Manage detox for non-opioid users. - Manage Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid users. - Prescribe, as needed, medications for new inmates currently on MAT. - Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with facility and regulatory standards. - Independently resolve daily medical issues. - Work effectively within a correctional setting, demonstrating professionalism and adherence to facility protocols. - Other duties as assigned.
