Join Gilead and help create possible, together.Job DescriptionGilead seeks highly motivated multidisciplinary scientist for the discovery of novel therapies and research platforms.  Successful candidates will drive activities aimed at creating, characterizing, and evaluating therapeutic strategies for the development of drugs for inflammatory and oncology diseases.  Scientists will interface with multidisciplinary project teams ranging from research to business development and help prioritize novel research opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Successful candidates will work in a new cross-funtional research structure to lead biological and computational investigations of new drug targets, research modalities, or platforms.  Responsibilities include:Independently design, conduct and analyse experiments to support the evaluation of therapeutic candidates, new research technologies, or platformsAnalyse key internal and external research data to validate therapeutic potential and design experiments to evaluate key findings  Successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects at any given time, and work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and highly collaborative team environment. Presents research findings and recommendations to senior staff, prepare research reports, and contribute to the preparation of any governance documentsWork closely with business development to evaluate outside entities and external opportunitiesDemonstrates strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to communicate ideas, objectives and results.Knowledge, Experience and Skills:Ph.D. with post-doctoral experience or 1+ years of industry experienceBioinformatic experience in data processing and analysis of multiomic sequencing data such as single cell RNAseq preferredExperience in gene-editing technologies such as CRISPR and multicolor flow cytometryDemonstrated record of research productivity as evidenced by authorship in in research publications or contributions to patent and IND applicationsExperience and knowledge in one of following areas including but not limited to immunology, T/B cell biology, gene editing, biochemistry, oncology, multiomic sequencing technologies    The salary range for this position is: $143,225.00 - $185,350.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
