The Director of Medical Records is responsible for directing the activities of the Medical Records department in the management and maintenance of all patient medical records information, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws, rules/regulations of licensing agencies and within Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care.The Director of Medical Records analyzes the quality of the medical records to ensure inclusion and completion of required information needed to facilitate reimbursement and assure continuity of patient care and provides expert consultative services to hospital staff regarding medical records.
