In the Siri and Information Intelligence organization, we work hard to power Apple Intelligence in order to build new experiences. One central part of the user experience is to deeply understand personal context (behaviors, preferences, etc.) to help users accomplish things in an intuitive, intelligent, and private manner. This requires creating ground-breaking technology to enable search for personal data on all devices where Siri is available. You would lead a team responsible for evaluating and improving personal question answering and search on Siri.
DescriptionIn this role, you will drive a team tasked with improving personal Q&A and search quality with a focus on data and metrics. You are expected to take advantage of the Apple ecosystem that blends innovative hardware, software, and strong privacy/security guarantees. The goal is to deliver the truly delightedly user experiences that are uniquely Apple. You will be responsible for devising a team vision and strategy, garnering support and implementing the plan, getting feedback from partner teams, and delivering reliable systems, e.g., producing data that has empirically validated quality. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of organizational partners across design, product and marketing, software engineering, and machine learning and profoundly impact billions of Apple users worldwide.
Minimum QualificationsCollaborative and product-focusedExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPassion for clean software architectures, intuitive UX design, and high-performance extensible softwareFluent in Python and GoLang or similarBS in Computer Science or related fieldPreferred QualificationsStrong and validated management experience with knowledge of ML development and production systemsStrong industry background and experience in search and related technologies (LLMs, Machine Learning, NLP, Information Retrieval, Statistics)Ability to manage long-term product vision alongside short-term deliverablesStrong systems experience, e.g., MLOps, DevOps, production data pipelines, etc.5+ years of technical contributions and leadershipMS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related fieldPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
