We are looking for a Senior Security Application Engineer who will play an important role in helping us build solutions to a variety of outstanding security challenges. Join us, and you’ll play a meaningful role in ensuring the highest standard of security for one of the most-watched companies in the world.DescriptionAs a Senior Security Application Engineer you will be responsible for designing and building critical platforms, services and tools that enable Apple to build secure services and products. This is a highly collaborative role where you will be working with security & engineering teams across Apple to understand the needs of stakeholders, align on goals and deliver high quality software that meets Apple's standard and scale.
Your daily activities will include understanding requirements, designing solutions, coding, testing, and integrating our services to provide a great user experience. You will also be expected to participate in prototyping, mentoring, design / code / security reviews, and incident analysis. As a senior engineer, you will apply your expertise to prioritize critical features and deliver quality solutions.Minimum Qualifications10+ years of work experience in software or security engineeringProven experience in designing, building and delivering high quality and performant software.Deep understanding of services oriented architecture, building internet-scale, distributed and critical services.Extensive knowledge in atleast one of the following languages: Java, Python, Go, SwiftHave the ability and openness to learn other programming languages as neededExperience working with infrastructure and running services in the cloud.Good understanding of securing SDLC at different phases of development and common tools used in the industry (SCM, CI/CD)Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to evangelize your work to leadership and engineers including writing requirements and solid technical guides.Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams located in different timezones to drive initiatives and get alignments.Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a related fieldPreferred QualificationsBackground in Security or Security adjacent projectsBonus: Experience with UI/UX and React (or similar JS Frameworks)Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
