DutiesYou will manage and direct a quality assurance program and provide oversight of industrialized shipbuilding contractors engaged in the maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul of naval ships under construction.You will direct, guide, monitor and evaluate the progress of work and review work assigned to the division and branch heads.You will develop internal methods, procedures, and policies governing the operation of assigned functions and responsibilities.You will resolve problems utilizing quality assurance and management techniques.You will capture performance of contractor deficiencies and report trends and corrective action to improve performance.You will collaborate with chiefs of other activities and negotiate, decide on, and coordinate work-related changes affecting other activities.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.This a Defense Acquisition Workforce position requiring Engineering and Technical Management, Practitioner certification. The incumbent has 60 months to earn this certification, in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66.You must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66.This position is a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position unless a tenure waiver is approved Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band (NH-03) or grade level (or GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing quality assurance programs to ensure the implementation of quality policies, procedures, or standards in support of shipbuilding requirements.
