In this vital role as part of the Commercial Data Science team, you will collaborate with business partners, digital and omnichannel marketers, cross-functional analytics teams and IT peers to develop data-driven insights and predictive models across the US Commercial Organization. This position will innovate and build significant business impact through sophisticated analytics techniques to help Amgen with its mission to serve patients.Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA OR Deerfield, IL office. You will work on-site 2-3 days a week.Supporting the development of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence capabilities across Amgen’s commercial organizationLeading measurement and tracking of various omnichannel CX enablement initiativesMeasuring the impact of cross-channel campaigns and the overall omnichannel programCrafting and deploying a framework to supervise performance of multiple campaigns, and tactics at a granular levelBuilding high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of conceptsIdentifying business needs and proposing potential analytics approaches for solutionsCreating prototypes and demonstrations to access and apply data assetsCommunicating analysis ideas, progress and results to leadership and business partnersWorking collaboratively with cross-functional teams on projects and/or programs with aims to systematically derive insights that ultimately derive substantial business value for Amgen and our patientsWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The data science professional we seek is a collaborator with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degreeORMaster’s degree and 2 years of data science and/or analytics experienceORBachelor’s degree and 4 years of data science and/or analytics experienceORAssociate’s degree and 8 years of data science and/or analytics experienceORHigh school diploma / GED and 10 years of data science and/or analytics experiencePreferred Qualifications:Relevant work experience in campaign measurement, marketing analytics and resource optimization in the commercial life sciences domainLead impact assessment of field digital tools and digital campaigns using but not limited to causal/ML-based approachesWork with various cross-functional stakeholders on various omnichannel initiatives like field suggestions/alerts, customer journeys and other retargeting initiativesDiligent technical proficiency with strong logical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent organization/planning skills and talent for leading large and sophisticated datasets.Ability to collaborate and influence business partners and other IS resources to drive analytic projects end-to-endProgramming experience with Python and experience with ML libraries like scikit-learn, MLib and experience working with large datasets, experience working with distributed computing tools (Spark)Ability to communicate analysis in a clear, detailed, and practical mannerPassion for learning and staying on top of current developments in sophisticated analyticsBiotech / Pharma experienceWhat you can expect from usAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
