Territory: Oregon, USA
The specific region this role will cover includes: Oregon and Southern Washington state. You will be set up with a company car (that can also be used personally).
Travel: RSMs are usually on the road visiting customers at a minimum Tue-Thur. Travel expected for this role 4 times per week and overnight stays may be required, but there are company-approved hotels to ensure comfortable and safe accommodations.
This role will develop strategic sales targeting large customer accounts with multiple influencers in the Greater Portland, State of Oregon, and Southern Washington territory. You will develop strategic sales targeting our established customer portfolio with multiple influencers. You'll support municipal industry business (desalination, wastewater, drinking water) and promote the company's products, from instrumentation and reagents to fully integrated solutions and services.
Working from a home office, this highly autonomous role requires an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to develop and execute a collaborative business plan and manage territory as it is one's own business.
You will be responsible for proactively selling to existing and new logo municipal customers within a defined geographic territory to drive market penetration and accelerated sales growth. In this role, you will entrepreneurially target the municipal vertical by engaging in-person to build funnel, prospect for new logos, provide existing customer account management, and new project pursuit. You will leverage multiple selling resources including inside sales, distribution channel sales, and other sales resources to create a winning go to market strategy

In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Develop monthly sales territory and account plans to achieve assigned targets.
- Executes planned activities and documents in Hach CRM, Salesforce.com (SFDC).
- Prepares and presents a monthly funnel review utilizing SFDC to demonstrate the quality of the funnel, activity plans, and command of the account base.
- Establish and maintain relationships with engineering firms and other accounts that indirectly influence the buying decisions of the customer
- Develops a network of customer and industry contacts in the territory to position Hach as a key member of the water management community
- Participates in sales activities including customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, customer seminars, and channel management.
- Acts as a mentor for the growth and development of other RSMs.
- Provides key field input in corporate programs including market research, Kaizen events, and equipment beta testing.
- Hach releases over 10 products per year, so you will always be learning and working on new items. This is fast-paced and significant work!

- 5+ years of sales experience in analytical instrumentation
- BA, BS required. A degree in a science-related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent is an asset
- Ability to travel up to 60% within assigned territory. Must have a valid driver license and a driving record which is acceptable Hach Company.
- Knowledge and/or experience selling in municipal markets (including wastewater, drinking water)
- Hands-on experience using a CRM (i.e. Salesforce.com)
- Formal sales training and/or experience in Question Based Selling, Value Selling, Sandler, and other sales methodologies.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
