This position is responsible for the proper, productive and safe fabricating of assigned parts running automated laser cutting machines, plasma cutters, CNC-controlled machines etc. following prescribed processes and procedures.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements
1st Shift - Fabricator/Assembler
What you will be doing
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to operating laser and plasma cutters, including handling gases, lasers, electrical components, and the proper use of PPE.
- Basic welding and metal fabrication skills for the need to combine cutting with other processes.
- Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software used for generating cutting paths or familiarity with machine-specific software for laser and plasma cutters.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions, cutting paths, and materials required.
- Experience or familiarity with operating automated laser cutting machines and plasma cutters.
- Understanding of how to set up and run CNC-controlled machines for cutting metal or other materials.
- Familiarity with setting up cutting tools, configuring machine parameters (cutting speed, gas flow, etc.), and ensuring accurate calibration.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Monitor fabricating processes to avoid under or over cutting or bending parts or warping or distortion of material.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on laser cutting and plasma cutting equipment (e.g., cleaning lenses, checking gas supply, replacing worn parts)..
- Basic understanding of different materials (metals, alloys, etc.) used in fabrication, including thicknesses, grades, and how they respond to laser and plasma cutting.
- Position and secure work-pieces, using hoists, cranes etc.
- Any other job duties assigned within and outside of the fabricating department, as needed.
- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
- Experience: One to two years related experience preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Certifications: Lock-Out, Tag-out Certified; Crane Certified; Forklift Certified; Ladder and Sling Certified.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, engineers, and supervisors regarding job orders, specifications, and machine operations.
- Read a tape measure, use micrometer, voltmeter, and calipers. Knowledge of blueprint reading. General knowledge of technology or electronics helpful.
