The Commissioning Engineer has extensive expertise as a generalist or specialist. Provides solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. The Commissioning Engineer team is responsible for performing final testing, startup, and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, industrial controls, SCADA and building automation as well as other apparatus both in the field and in a manufacturing environment. An understanding of sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems and associated test equipment and procedures is required. You will contribute to a safe working environment for co-workers and customers and help ensure the overall success of projects. Local, regional, and national travel may be required.

Position Summary:
- Originates MEP Systems including electrical, mechanical equipment, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, EPMS, BMS, etc.) commissioning, inspection and testing deliverables and documents, including schedule
- Prepares technical reports related to specific design issues
- Uses available commissioning tools for efficient execution of project deliverables
- Participates in technical meeting with customer and engineering functional staff
- Assists in constructability reviews
- Small project field assignment
- Oversees execution of MEP Systems Commissioning inspection / testing activities on site
- Works with MEP Systems and associated electronic relays and other system components (SCADA, PLC) via manufacturer specific computer software
- Understands MEP system commissioning, inspection and testing requirements
- Understand commissioning terminology
- Basic understanding of industry codes and standards
- Understand basic cost and schedule considerations
- Familiar with the application of electrical equipment
- Credible automation knowledge
- Familiar with the mechanical, electrical, automation engineering web site and how to find department guides and standards
- Basic understanding of how CADD tools are to be used
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- Assists more experienced Commissioning specialist coordinating, and reviewing deliverables
- Prepares and reviews simple electrical & Mechanical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets
- Performs simple routine electrical or mechanical calculations
- Assists in review of supplier documentation for compliance with specifications
- Uses the electrical engineering web site to access department guides and standards
- Basic knowledge of Commissioning, inspection and Testing of electrical components and system
- Knowledge of basic electrical engineering theories
- Basic power system familiarity with MEP systems and associated technologies, test equipment, etc.
- Proficient with technical writing
- Knowledge of advance mathematics
- Basic awareness of industry codes and standards
- Good communications skills
- Willing to travel to customer sites periodically
Requirements:

- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or equivalent
