Job Description
The Director, Product Management (Retail Marketing) is responsible for developing and executing product marketing plans for the Cavendish Farms Retail division in Canada, US and Internationally. The successful candidate will manage the Retail product marketing team, develop the product portfolio strategy, oversee execution of packaging, sponsorships, shopper marketing, and collaborate on product innovation and renovation projects.

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have two state-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI, one in Lethbridge, AB and another in Jamestown, ND. Headquartered in Dieppe, NB, the company also operates an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON and has sales office locations in Toronto and Boston. The Director, Product Management (Retail Marketing) is responsible for developing and executing product marketing plans for the Cavendish Farms Retail division in Canada, US and Internationally. The successful candidate will manage the Retail product marketing team, develop the product portfolio strategy, oversee execution of packaging, sponsorships, shopper marketing, and collaborate on product innovation and renovation projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute product marketing plans for Cavendish Farms Retail division in Canada, US and International
- Develop and execute shopper marketing plans
- Oversee product portfolio brand packaging design for Retail in Canada, US and International.
- Provide team leadership and coaching for Retail product marketing team
- Evaluate in-market initiatives and periodically review the status of the current portfolio to ensure the maximization of sales, profitability, and a consistent customer experience
- Strategic planning collaboration with Sales on customer plans and meetings
- Strategic planning collaboration with Innovation and Insights on product innovation strategy for Cavendish Farms brand and customer brands
- Develop and execute marketing sponsorship plans
- Develop and deliver customer presentations
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education
- Minimum 10 years related experience (preferably in food, packaged goods environment)
- Exceptional analytical skills used to assess current product performance as well as forecast sales, penetration, etc.
- Naturally proactive with a high degree of self-discipline and organization skills in order to manage numerous overlapping projects and deadlines
- Superior interpersonal and formal presentation skills
- Outstanding leadership and customer relationship skills
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Understanding of food processing/manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
