The Opportunity:

In order to meet these growth challenges, WSP is currently looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team, located in any of our offices in British Columbia.

This position is within the Hydropower & Dams market sector of the Power Division within ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry), specializing in hydroelectric projects (development, rehabilitation), dam and hydraulic structures engineering, and dam safety. We work in collaboration with public and private sector clients on innovative projects that allow our team members to prove their expertise and to train a new generation of passionate people.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Participate in feasibility studies and detailed engineering of new structures or rehabilitation of existing structures (dams, spillways, hydroelectric power plants);
  • Perform reinforced concrete and steel structure design;
  • Participate in site inspections;
  • Participate in the preparation of plans and specifications;
  • Prepare reports and calculation notes;
  • Carry out dam safety studies.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelors or master's degree in civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent program.
  • 6-10 years experience in structural engineering;
  • Must be registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in British Columbia.
  • Experience in civil/structural construction - Hydro and Dam experience preferred but not necessary;
  • Multi-disciplinary versatility, leadership skills, dynamic, team-spirited, quality-oriented, and technical excellence are essential;
  • Strong communication skills.

Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $88 900 - $122 200

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
