This position will work Friday - Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:30 pm - 12-hour shifts. Fitters that work their full 36 hour shift in a week, will get paid 40 hours.

Structural Fitter Overview:

Structural Fitter Pay Range:
- $17-$28/hr - hourly rate based on skill demonstrated during fitter/weld test
- Paid WEEKLY
- A Fitter is responsible for the layout and assembly of fabricated parts in accordance with shop drawings using AISC and AWS standards.
- Lays out, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products in the shop, according to blueprint and layout specifications, preparatory to welding or riveting.
- Locates and marks centerline and reference points onto floor or face block and transposes them to work piece.
- Moves parts into position, manually or by hoist/overhead crane. Aligns parts and make ready for final assembly.
- Adheres to all company safety and OSHA regulations.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
- Performs non-essential duties as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent with a certificate from Vo-Tech or Trade school in mechanics.
- Must be able to fit most structural steel including beams, columns, braces, and simple frames.
- Must have ability to pass Class B welding test which may include 1G FCAW, 3G FCAW, 4G FCAW, 1G SMAW, 3G SMAW, 4GSMAW, and 1G SAW.
- Excellent math skills required.
- Ability to pass a tape measure test is required.
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently.
- Requires excessive bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing and bending.
- Exposure to temperature fluctuations and noisy work environment.
- Considerable amounts of overtime and weekend work required.
- All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
