Job Description

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Water Resources Engineer for our Houston, TX office.

Be involved in projects with our Water Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline
• Master's Degree in Engineering.
• 10 to 12 years of relevant post education experience in water resources engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas; CFM certificate (preferred)

Responsibilities
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support municipal drainage systems, water infrastructure, environmental, as well as resiliency and climate adaptation projects.
• Familiarity with surface water analysis, hydrologic methodologies/models (TR-55, HEC-HMS, etc.), hydraulic models (HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS-2D, HEC-GeoRAS, SRH-2D, ORD D&U and GEOPAK-Drainage), and with ESRI ArcGIS software.
• Knowledge of stormwater and flood protection infrastructure design standards and regulations of Harris County Engineering Department, Harris County Flood Control Department, City of Houston and other local municipalities in the Houston/Harris County region.
• Conduct field work and data collection for watershed studies, neighborhood drainage systems and stormwater infrastructure associated with roadway, to complete design tasks that will create sustainable and resilient surface water design.
• Knowledge of water resource engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to environmental permitting and project work-related issues.
• Knowledge of Stormwater Management, Drainage, Erosion and Sediment Control, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, Floodplain Analysis/Delineation, etc.
• Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards.
• Lead/coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
• Work across WSP offices to develop client base and identify business development opportunities.
