About the role
As the Director of Financial Contract Reporting at Crunchyroll, you will lead our Financial Contract Reporting (FCR) Team, overseeing all aspects of royalty reporting and compliance. Your main responsibilities will include the management of the end-to-end royalty process—from data collection to payment distribution—enhancing systems, and leading global strategic integrations.
As the Director Financial Contract Reporting you will report to the VP Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete royalty reporting cycle, including contract setup, data ingestion, statement preparation, and transaction verification to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Lead the FCR team, introducing technologies to refine processes and improve tracking of project progress through key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with global counterparts to synchronize royalty processes, manage financial components, and support integration efforts for new acquisitions to ensure cohesive global operations.
- Direct the management of accruals, approval of payments, and reconciliation processes, ensuring service delivery to licensors.
- Produce performance reports for senior management, setting and evaluating measurable goals.
A day in the life:
- Ensure compliance with internal audits and controls, including SOX requirements, by managing necessary checklists, reviews, and approvals.
- Collaborate across departments to refine operational methods, enhancing service quality for licensors.
- Work with international teams to standardize financial tracking related to reporting and payouts, including revenue, production and advertising costs, and advance shortfalls.
- Oversee and enhance all aspects of outbound royalty distributions.
About You
- You have 12+ years of experience in accounting or finance within the entertainment sector, with a background in royalty reporting, third-party engagements or Content Accounting.
- You bring 5+ years of leadership experience, with a track record in managing global teams.
- You hold a CPA designation, an MBA, or both.
- Your skills include designing integration plans and consolidating operations across international borders.
- You have a understanding of large-scale ERP and royalty systems.
- You are familiar with legal contract interpretation.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
