Northwest Wisconsin Veterinary Services is a full-service animal hospital and welcomes both emergency treatment cases as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Our veterinary team has years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care.

Position Purpose

Northwest Wisconsin Veterinary Services in Amery, Wisconsin, has served the needs of rural companion animals for over 20 years, and with it comes extraordinary companion animal care. We are currently the only general practice in the area and have a steady caseload with plenty of variety. No two days are ever the same! Our large, well-equipped facility has four spacious exam rooms, allowing us to prioritize care for a patient appointment or surgery. Our friendly and collaborative staff efficiently runs our well-outfitted one doctor practice. Our clients love our support staff and service-oriented approach. We are excited to add an experienced veterinarian to our practice to continue our legacy of serving the community! This position will support a flexible schedule, so you set your hours!

About the area: Known as the City of Lakes, Amery is set on the Apple River in northwest Wisconsin. Less than an hour from the Twin Cities, this family-friendly community supports good schools and a thriving business district. Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients' medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
