Job Description
The Opportunity:
WSP's Buildings' team engages in the design of commercial, institutional, recreational and residential buildings. WSP is currently seeking an intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings Business Unit, located 3 days at the WSP office. Most of the projects (80% approximately) involve retrofit work in existing buildings. You will apply your technical knowledge of electrical power distribution, fire alarm/voice communication, emergency power supply, EV charging, and lighting system design across commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial buildings. With the push for decarbonization growth in the retrofit market is expected to climb steeply in the next decade creating a challenging and exciting career opportunity for the right individual with the skills as mid-level technical personnel. You will be working within a team of 15 technical staff members.

A day in the life:
- Electrical design, calculations and preparation of specifications of power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm, security systems and emergency power
- Preparing AutoCAD drawings and Revit 3D modeling for all electrical system designs as mentioned above;
- Complete understanding of Electrical Engineering requirement, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Electrical Safety Authority, and IEEE standards for Building and Site design;
- Perform individually or as a team member with electrical discipline and under direct supervision of Senior Engineers;
We'd love to hear from you if you have...
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering;
- Licensed with PEO;
- 6-10 years of experience
- Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is a must;
- Exemplary interpersonal skills with team members and other disciplines;
- Familiarity with software used for engineering studies - arc flash, load, fault and coordination studies, lighting, grounding, etc. is an asset;
- Own transportation with ability to travel to project sites as required
