for the Information Technology department. Which at times, may require statewide travel withan occasional overnight stay to perform work.
The selected candidate will design, direct, review,implement, improve, engineer, and cable (network/voice). The selected candidatewill work with vendors to develop and implement solutions, develop policies andguidelines, troubleshoot major/minor network failures, analyze networkcapacity, manage vendor relationships, support agreements, and validate networkbilling related to all aspects of the network based on Network and Telecommunicationsstandards and best practices.
Experience in network engineering to include analysis ofnetwork requirements, performance for a large-scale network. Experience in dataand telecommunications to include installing, testing, and inspecting deployed datacommunications systems. Experience installing, migrating, and supportingcritical, multi-site networks a plus.
The selected candidate will coordinate and interact withmultiple vendors for problem resolution and diagnosing networking issues.Knowledge of wireline and wireless communications technologies and standards,including fiber optics, T1, DS-3, MPLS, cellular / 5G, CDMA, TDMA, VoIP,TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, IP networking concepts (subnetting, routing).
The selected candidate will manage all phases of networkinstallation and administration; to research and document communicationstechnologies, topologies, and trends. The selected candidate should be able tocommunicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal and externalcustomers. Proficiency using MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. With anexcellent working knowledge of LAN, WAN, WAP, Cradle Point / NetCloud, andcabling standards.
