Procurement Quality Assurance Representative "PQAR"/Quality Lead Auditor for Suppliers Audits

The Procurement Quality Assurance Representative "PQAR"/Quality Lead Auditor reports to the Procurement Quality Assurance Manager.

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:
  • Preparation of supplier Annual Audit Program Plans and updates as required to reflect any changes to the schedule.
  • Obtaining a unique audit file number.
  • Preparing the Audit Plan.
  • Conducting the audit opening and audit closing meetings as well as daily debriefings.
  • Reporting immediately to management of the audited organization any conditions requiring prompt corrective action.
  • Populating the audit checklist.
  • Preparing and issuing the Audit Report.
  • Raising a Supplier Corrective Action Request SCAR(s) for each audit finding.
  • Evaluating the auditee response to audit findings.
  • Taking follow-up action to verify that corrective action(s) is completed as scheduled and escalate any issues to management as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that the Approved Suppliers List is updated to reflect the audit results, issuing the Supplier Qualification Letter/Audit Acceptance Letter to the supplier, and informing Procurement, and filing all Supplier audits records.
  • Performing Surveillance of Suppliers at their facilities to witness key inspections and review documentation packages.
  • Reviewing Procurement documentation (Engineering Requisition, Bidder's List, Request for Proposal, Purchase Order) to ensure quality requirements are correctly captured and communicated to suppliers.

  • Preparing the Quality surveillance Plan Face Sheet (SPFS).
  • Review and disposition of supplier documents and procedures of the assigned Purchase Orders (PO), Performing Quality Surveillance on assigned PO.
  • Verification and Witnessing of an inspection/test/examination per SPFS/ITP/Checklist.
  • Liaising with the Engineering Representative (ER) during the life of the PO as needed on issues requiring technical interpretation/guidance in the performance of QS activities. Reviewing and signing of the Design Change Instruction (DCI) to confirm acceptability of QA requirements and reviewing and authorizing supplier Deviation Disposition Request (DDR) for ER disposition.
  • Reporting and escalating, as needed, significant quality related issues on assigned PO to QA Manager, Procurement, ER and the OA and coordinating till resolution of the issue.
  • Raising a Supplier Corrective Action Request SCAR(s) for each finding.
  • Issuing Quality Program Surveillance Report (QPSR) and Quality Assurance Release (QAR).
  • Arranging for updates to relevant supplier records in the SQD and ensuring that supplier evaluation is placed into Evaluation Tab in SQD at the completion of each PO.
  • Filing all the records related to the quality surveillance activities (e.g. QS Plans, QPSR, QS Records, etc.).
  • Maintaining and monitoring the validity of qualification of all suppliers with open PO.

The ideal candidate:
  • University bachelor's degree in engineering, with experience in the nuclear field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years practical working experience in a relevant nuclear field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procedures, processes, equipment, and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of CSA N 285.0, CSA N299 and CSA N286-12 and ASME codes.
  • Good understanding of relevant CANDU systems, and retube technology.
  • Good knowledge to write procedures and review documents on a technical level.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and effectiveness in interpersonal relationships.
  • Basic computing skills and functionality with standard Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be familiar with nuclear projects and engineering/technical terminology.
  • Conversant with Nuclear' corporate objectives, work methods, processes, procedures, and organization.
  • Ability to manage several audits and bids concurrently and works well under deadline pressures.
  • Innovation is an asset with proactive mindset to aid in improving processes.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities required to tackle a wide range of unique problems.
  • Strong organizational skills, work planning skills, and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Strong oral and written skills to interact with internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers at lower grade levels and / or other technical employees.
  • Able to provide guidance on important technical matters.
  • Able to prioritize work in terms of objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Able to work with and resolve conflicts with internal and external stakeholders and Suppliers in a professional manner.
