SUMMARY
Software Engineer will be working in a constantly evolving environment supporting various Atec
software products amongst various development platforms. This will mainly involve supporting
existing systems along with supporting technical leads in research and development efforts for
future software products.
This position will require a working knowledge of various data acquisition and control hardware.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary task is providing adequate software support to end-users and technical leads for current and
legacy systems. Atec's software products are used widely around the world and thus software engineers
are required to be knowledgeable in each system.

Will have to demonstrate strong troubleshooting/debugging skills to properly diagnose system
discrepancies. In most circumstances, this task involves working with other software engineers, engineers
from other disciplines and customers.
Effective communication skills are paramount to communicate clearly and intelligently.
Will have to demonstrate strong programming skills to support the development of future Atec software
products. This specifically involves infrastructure design which would often require development of
algorithms and data handling/processing schemes. This "back-end" type of development will be required.
Additionally, Software Engineers will often be required to develop Graphical Users Interfaces in both
desktop and embedded applications, as such "front-end" development will also be required.
Will be required to work within Atec's Source Control system currently being used. In all circumstances,
source control best practices must always be followed.
Atec Inc. is an AS9100 certified company and thus exercises a strong adherence to quality control and
standard operating procedures (Work Instructions). Consequently, Software Engineer must learn,
understand, and implement all quality practices within Atec's Quality Management System (QMS).
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work
environment.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization
(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelors and/or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related technical
discipline. 3+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong proficiency in object-oriented-programming with specific programming experience in C, C++, and
Python. (Additional experience in LabVIEW is preferred).
