About the Role

The George DeLallo Company is seeking a highly collaborative and detail-oriented Director of Information Technology to lead the day-to-day activities of the IT department. Executing our technology strategy, ensuring secure and efficient IT operations, and enhancing our competitive advantage through innovative solutions. Based on-site at our headquarters in Mount Pleasant, PA, this role involves not only shaping the long-term technology vision but also engaging directly in detailed problem-solving to support our corporate values.

The ideal candidate is a strategic technology leader who can partner effectively across departments, translating business needs into technology solutions that drive productivity and growth. This role requires someone willing to work with their team and other departments to address operational and technical details while driving initiatives that enhance data organization, analysis, and security across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Leadership: Provide daily, on-site management of the IT team, ensuring secure, reliable, and effective operation of all technology systems.
  • Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Develop and manage the annual IT budget in partnership with finance, conducting quarterly reviews to align technology investments with evolving business needs and objectives.
  • Innovation & Advancement: Evaluate, select, and implement technology solutions that support business continuity, improve operational efficiency, and enhance competitiveness, ensuring our technology remains at or above industry standards.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with department leaders to understand their challenges and design solutions that improve productivity, data organization, and analysis. Lead company-wide initiatives to promote user adoption of new technologies.
  • Cybersecurity Oversight: Oversee cybersecurity practices, including regular assessments, testing, and updates in collaboration with third-party security providers to maintain strong defenses against evolving threats.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Select and manage relationships with technology vendors and consultants, negotiate contracts, and ensure they meet the organization’s standards and requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of technological trends and innovations, advising management on potential competitive advantages and improvements in business processes.
  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and inspire the IT team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes skill development, accountability, and alignment with company goals.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in setting and executing technology strategies that align with organizational goals, driving both IT efficiency and user adoption.
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging technology solutions, with the ability to assess, implement, and manage their impact on operations and competitiveness.
  • Budgeting and financial planning expertise, including the ability to prioritize resources effectively for technology and security initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across departments and drive technology-related cultural change.
  • Strong organizational skills with a meticulous approach to managing IT operations, projects, and processes.

Supervisory Responsibility

As Director Information Technology, you will lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and fostering a results-oriented, collaborative culture.

Required Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other computer field

· Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience

· Project management and team leadership experience

Founded in 1950, the George DeLallo Company is a family-owned manufacturer and distributor of specialty Italian and Mediterranean foods. As pioneers and leaders of the industry, we have expanded from our beginnings in Jeannette, PA, as a roadside Italian marketplace to multiple locations. Our corporate office and distribution center is in Mount Pleasant, PA, where we lead our national sales teams and operate our fleet to service customers. We operate three olive and antipasto production facilities in Mount Pleasant, Penn, PA, and Oroville, CA. In addition, we own and operate our very own olive orchard in Oroville, CA, as well as an industrial bakery in Bridgeville, PA.
