Structural Designer/Drafter

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.'s ("KCB") Power and Transportation Group has an immediate opening for a Structural Designer/ Drafter to join our Vancouver officeThis role willwork on heavy civil infrastructure projects, including hydroelectric, transportation, and marine facilities. The successful candidate will work as part of a project team, and alongside accomplished managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Be involved in all aspects of multidisciplinary design and drafting
  • Create civil and/or structural layouts and conceptual plans
  • Prepare detailed design drawings (civil, structural concrete, structural steel, and reinforcing steel detailing)
  • Develop layouts and detail designs related to earthworks, excavations, and roads
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of peers' deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with KCB's Quality Management System (QMS) and our clients' quality standards


We value your:
  • Diploma of Civil Engineering, or Certificate of Structural Drafting from a recognized technical institution
  • 8 + years' experience in civil engineering design drafting
  • High level of proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, MicroStation or Revit
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with the use of external reference files and layer naming conventions
  • Working understanding of survey and geomatics data
  • Motivation to assist the development of junior staff skills
  • Experience with hydroelectric facilities and/or BC Hydro CAD standards an asset
  • Familiarity with GIS is an asset


The salary for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
