The Senior Director of Advertising helps oversee all activities in the advertising sales department. They are responsible for meeting all the business' advertising goals and they are responsible for actively seeking the development of new business. The Sr. Director of Advertising must be a strong innovative leader with the capacity to motivate, lead, coach and mentor a sales advertising force within a fast-paced business environment.
This job is performed on-site, in Colorado Springs, following our hybrid model (WFH on Tuesdays & Fridays, in-office on Tuesdays & Fridays as needed).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Be part of the leadership over the department.
- Help with recruiting key advertising personnel.
- Help motivate the department in the execution of their duties, encouraging them to surpass their goals.
- Ensure that weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual advertising goals are met.
- Provide mentorship to key personnel and ensure constant professional growth.
Strategy
- Work with the VP of Sales & Marketing to develop advertising strategies that support sales plans and attracts/retains new customers.
- Work with the VP of Sales & Marketing to develop weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual sales quotas.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Marketing department in order to ensure effective sales prospecting.
- Collaborate and work closely with all the sales executives helping oversee content, product development, and customer support.
Knowledge and Opportunity
- Gather ideas and feedback from the sales team to help formulate advertisement sales strategies and solutions.
- Keep up with business data insights, relevant publications to gather industry knowledge and to drive a competitive edge.
- Work on new ways to navigate market shifts and industry challenges.
Analytics
- Evaluate market-trends to drive strategic product decisions.
- Submit detailed weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual pipeline reports to the VP of Sales & Marketing.

Minimum Education & Work Experience Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven record of accomplishment of at least 10 years in advertising and/or subscription sales.
- Experience in the media industry with a strong understanding of digital media, newspaper, television, and radio advertising, and subscription revenue generation.
- Experience working in competitive markets or expanding and opening new markets.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse sales team.
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community influencers.
- Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have experience working in standard advertising systems.
