Outside Sales Manager

The Outside Sales Manager is responsible for driving volume and profit growth by leading the outside sales force at a branch location. Being an active member of the Location Management Team with primary responsibility for outside sales, sales pipeline, new business development, and improving sales force effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES (90% customer facing/virtual / 10% supplier facing/virtual):
Sales:
- Responsible for creating and driving a pipeline-oriented sales culture dedicated to aggressively developing new business while managing existing business
- Lead effort to improve data within Saleforce.com to build pipeline credibility
- Help Develop metrics and goals around pipeline activity
- Manage daily/weekly/quarterly sales metrics
- Ensure sales team is driving value prop to customer / suppliers
- Constantly review the effectiveness of the outside team
- Provide constant feedback and coaching in an effort to develop the team and increase productivity
- Synthesize the collaboration between inside and outside sales teams
Tech Reps (where applicable):
- Constantly evaluate performance to ensure that reps are on task, documenting their activities in Salesforce.
- Leverage activities and success stories with target dealers
Marketing:
- Create and lead digital marketing initiative aimed at target audiences (dealer, builder, contractor, architect) via Salesforce.com.
Pricing optimization:
- In an effort to achieve desired margin improvement, monitor pricing optimization results on a daily basis (reviewing variance reports, address exceptions)
- Collaborate with Sales Operation Manager if applicable
General:
- Meet with vendors as needed
- Coordinate Dealer Trade Shows and Regional Trade shows
- Manage dealer rebates; capture data and approve rebates for credits to be provided for rebate programs.
- Work with product category managers for new and existing product strategies.
- Prepare commission reports / process any adjustments as needed
- Monitor activity between Inside Sales & Support and the clients in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that the team provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Monitor performance paying special attention to key areas that require additional training.
- Develop & maintain business relationships with new & existing customers.
- Provide mentoring, training, and motivational leadership to all staff.
- Provide performance reviews on a bi-annual basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills, particularly the ability to drive results without direct reporting authority.
- Microsoft Office including hosting presentation
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify and analyze key, market, customer, and competitive trends.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage to objectives with demonstrated initiative.
- Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to forge strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key customers and associates.
- Well-honed conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to think through issues and opportunities from the customer's perspective.
- Drive Parksite culture within sales team
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years business experience, including significant amount of sales and/or marketing experience
- Building products experience preferred
- Leadership experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- In-market 85% of the time (customer facing)
- Occasional over-night travel required.
- Must react to short lead customer requests, Possible evenings, or weekend for customer events
