What you will do: Reporting to the CEO & President, the Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, safety, and personnel management. Additionally, the Plant Manager has budgeting responsibilities, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting financial targets.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve production targets, optimize plant performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operations Management: Oversee all plant operations, including production scheduling, inventory management, quality control, and maintenance activities, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage the plant budget, monitoring expenses, analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving measures to meet financial targets.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of production staff, supervisors, and support personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications, implementing quality control measures and corrective actions to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance staff to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of plant equipment and machinery.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and services.
- Customer Relations: Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements, implementing best practices and lean manufacturing principles to drive operational excellence.
- Other duties as assigned
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in plant management or similar leadership roles in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic pipe production or related industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and drive results.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control principles.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and ERP systems.
- Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support plant operations.
- Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, training, or other business-related purposes.
- Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
