Leidos is actively seeking an experienced Test and Quality Assurance Engineer to provide support for a position in our Gaithersburg, MD location with an opportunity to telework part-time. The ideal candidate will support the Paper and Remittance Processing Support III (PRPS III) project under the direction of Leidos & Internal Revenue Service (IRS) subject matter experts, in collaboration with Leidos & IRS developers, following IRS processes, using specified COTS products and IRS developed products.

Leidos is actively seeking an experienced Test and Quality Assurance Engineer to provide support for a position in our Gaithersburg, MD location with an opportunity to telework part-time. The ideal candidate will support the Paper and Remittance Processing Support III (PRPS III) project under the direction of Leidos & Internal Revenue Service (IRS) subject matter experts, in collaboration with Leidos & IRS developers, following IRS processes, using specified COTS products and IRS developed products.
In this role the Test and Quality Assurance Engineer will:
- Perform test tasks on legacy IRS systems as well as newly developed modernized systems with complex design
- Perform end to end testing on scanning solutions for image and data capture
- Perform analysis on existing and new functionalities and testing scripts
- Perform Integration testing on newly developed modernized scanning solution software
- Create, maintain, and execute test scripts
- Create and maintain test data
- Create and manage defect reports
- Verify Pass/Fail of test scripts through verification of log files
- Provide status reports
- Provide and document test results or defects
- Use Rational Suite tools
- Use Microsoft Suite tools
This position is considered a hybrid remote opportunity and may require you to be onsite at least 50% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferred and 7 or more years' experience in testing roles . Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Software data entry/capture testing experience.
- Client server installations and testing experience.
- Test Plan/Case data creation and review.
- Experience in verify Pass/Fail of test scripts through verification of log files and provide status reports.
- Integration and system testing experience.
- Experience analyzing requirements and design documentation for test planning and clarification.
- Requirements verification traceability experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance, similar to a Public Trust prior to start date.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Enthusiasm and curiosity to explore and pick up new technologies and concepts
- Can work in an iterative way starting with ambiguity and loosely structured requirements
- Actively seeks ways to increase domain knowledge on software systems
- Independent self-starter with the ability to multitask different priorities
- Ability to lead test team tasks in small groups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience testing IRS software systems (specifically ISRP and/or SCRIPS)
- Scanning Solutions and document processing
- Software installation validation
- Requirement and Design Analysis
- Data capture and verification
- OCR image capture verification
- Testing batch processes
- Waterfall and Agile lifecycle methodologies
- Windows OS, Unix/Linux OS
- Experience testing in a client-server based environment
- Experience testing in a Cloud environment
- Active IRS MBI clearance
Clearance Requirements:
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for at least 3 years and have resided in the US for 3 of the last 5 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
