BASIC FUNCTION:
The Project Manager may work with the Film, Arts, & New Media staff, key ESD departments, the Governor's Office, State and local agencies, and Film TV and Theatre digital stakeholders to promote and grow New York State's Arts industries. They will support ESD's role as a premier economic development agency and ensure New York's economy continues to strategically grow, prosper, and reflect the diversity that is New York State. The role will support the implementation and administration of new and existing programs relating to the growth of the motion picture and television production industries, post-production industries and theater industries across NYS. Assist with, coordinate, and lead various projects and programs.
This program manager will be the primary staff member responsible for tracking and intake of post-production programs and industry developments. This position will focus on tracking key industry stakeholders and developments within NY's ecosystem and the news, across departmental industry sectors, inputting and managing several data sources.

WORK PERFORMED:
- Daily and Ongoing Tracking and summarizing of relevant news developments.
- Conduct data entry and research in support of program execution;
- Track key industry stakeholders and events within NY's ecosystem - ensuring departmental data is current and accurate.
- Participate in strategic partnerships within relevant industries.
- Effectively summarize meetings and project updates within small working groups advancing collectively agreed upon objectives, delegating work, and accepting responsibility for mistakes.
- Strategically assist the AVP, Executive Director, and Sr. Vice President.
- Provide industry stakeholders and the general public with ongoing support via phone and email, such as location assistance.
- Draft correspondence, talking points, briefings, presentations, communications, and other materials as requested.
- Assist with the production of the Film & Television newsletter, social media content, Film & TV webpage, and marketing and outreach strategies.
- Assist in organizing industry events such as webinars, industry roundtables, stakeholder events, and other ad hoc events.
- Hold themselves, internal, and external colleagues to accountable deliverables.
- Perform project management duties as assigned.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets and analysis of data collected.
- Prepare studies, analysis and reports on the economic factors affecting the film, television, and commercial production industries within and beyond the film and television tax program.
- Provide daily updates as needed for AVP and Executive Director maintaining ongoing communication to further collaboration, direction, and supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education Level required: bachelor's degree, open to a variety of fields in the Arts or Sciences including (but not limited to): Computer Science, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Media & Communications, or equivalent work experience in one or more of these sectors.
- Equivalent Experience required: 2+ years relevant experience, preferably within the film and television industry, governmental offices or agencies, multi-platform marketing experience, building strategies and planning execution of public policy, economic development, technology, and business development; multidisciplinary background preferred.
- Knowledge required: Excellent project management and organizational, writing, researching, and presentation skills. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations/strategy. Firm understanding of the principals of economic development, State, City and regional policy and political matters. Familiarity translating public policy and press matters into policy and communication strategies.
