Supply Chain Analyst

Supply Chain Analytics Team is responsible for gathering data and conducting analysis with the goal of improving S.P. Richards' supply chain operations by improving customer fill rates and reducing costs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data visualization, SQL and Oracle query writing, and project management. This person should be a proven problem solver who has an analytical mind and a strong grasp on supply chain concepts (inventory and demand planning). The Analyst will be expected to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including colleagues from Supply Chain, IT, Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, and/or Pricing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Others may be assigned)

  • Write and optimize SQL and Oracle queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations to communicate findings and support decision-making using tools such as Excel and Power BI
  • Track progress and recommend actions to improve major KPIs such as fill rate, inventory turns, gross margin % and lead time accuracy
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, set timelines, and ensure successful project execution
  • Support the implementation of new supply chain technologies and processes (software such as Palantir Foundry or Alteryx)
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses as needed to address specific business questions and challenges, such as excess inventory reductions or stocking strategy optimizations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain analysis or a related role
  • Proficiency in complex SQL and Oracle query writing
  • Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to lead and execute projects from start to finish
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Data Science, or a related field preferred. Three to five years' experience in analyzing business processes required.

Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel, advanced query writing, and data visualization experience required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to document business processes and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, change over time, proportions, percentages, and cubic volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Organizational Skills:

Must be detail oriented and exceptional in organization techniques. Must be self-motivated, with ability to set and achieve goals, and set priorities of multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make sound business process decisions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
