We are looking for a talented Senior Civil Engineer and Project Manager specializing in site servicing and grading design who wants to be part of a purpose-driven organization that's focused on helping our clients, colleagues and communities thrive.
Stantec's Winnipeg Conveyance Team collaborates on linear infrastructure projects across the Province of Manitoba, including large and small projects, for new and existing clients in the water, wastewater, stormwater, and flood control sectors of the Manitoba market. Our conveyance team is at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to improve and expand this critical infrastructure-everything from force mains and sanitary sewers to hydraulic structures, pipelines, CIPP liners, open channels, and storm retention. With expertise in linear infrastructure planning and design, flood control, hydraulic analysis and natural surface water systems, our team is committed to supporting projects that address the greatest infrastructure needs our communities face today. Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead varied and diverse civil design tasks on projects including preparing engineering drawings, engineering reports, technical specifications, construction quantity take-off, and support applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
- Manage multiple civil engineering projects, including preparation of fee proposals consisting of project scope definition, fee estimates, budget tracking, staffing and schedule.
- Lead client project meetings and attend contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to support client's goals, site assessments, and vendor/equipment supplier contacts and coordination.
- Engage in the development of design through sketches, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required.
- Oversee contract administration services including completion of progress estimates, change orders, field instructions, request for information response, liaison between the contractor and the client, and other general project coordination during construction.
- Assist in the permit/approval process, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, and governing entities.
- Coordinate technical activities and designs with team members in other disciplines and serve as a liaison between task manager and design team.
- Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate project engineers and coordinators.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading projects and providing site servicing and site grading designs on linear infrastructure projects in the Province of Manitoba including design of new infrastructure, and renewal of existing infrastructure
- Work experience in linear infrastructure including watermains, wastewater sewer, land drainage sewer and forcemains, lagoon design, stormwater management, earthwork and grading and flood protection
- Proficiency or experience in hydraulic modeling is an asset
- Proficiency or experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is an asset
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required, as is an ability to work independently within the bounds of direction provided by the project manager
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities on projects
- Must Possess a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license and have access to a vehicle
- Travel may be required

- Interest in developing technical and/or project management specialization in consulting environment
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with ability to become registered with EGM as P.Eng.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of related experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University and either a registered P.Eng., or the ability to become registered with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as a P.Eng.
