The Leidos Aerospace Systems Business Area is seeking a Vice President, Division Manager (VP/DM) for the Space Systems Division. Leidos is looking for a self-motivated and highly organized leader capable of overseeing the Space Systems Division, consisting of approximately 250 employees and $190M annual revenue. This division is a multidisciplinary engineering team built to address diverse technical challenges for multiple Government organizations, and civil/commercial space customers. This position will oversee a key growth area within Leidos in the space payload and space sensing market area. The work spans space sensor payload development for IR and RF missions, propulsion and docking systems, ECLSS, space structures, and lunar mobility and logistics business areas. In Space Sensing, this division will continue Leidos' 40 year history in payload development and operations to support warfighter persistent threat awareness while applying core capabilities to development components and systems for our customers.
The VP/DM will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Aerospace Systems, and will be responsible for directing and growing division commitments for all customer, employee, program, financial and new business short- and long-range strategies. This leadership role will proactively build and leverage relationships with other division managers, group staff and functional support and be expected to collaborate across the company and exhibit teamwork to contribute to division, business area, sector, and enterprise success. Engages in strategic thinking by understanding "big picture" analysis both from the technological and business case perspectives for both new and existing market initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Scope of responsibility includes leadership with a commitment to developing, engaging and retaining a high-performing team; collaboration across organizations; integrated business strategy development that aligns to the Aerospace Systems Business Area and Defense Sector/Leidos strategy; program performance oversight, IR&D and B&P investments, and nurturing of all customer relationships.
The Division Manager must be able to monitor, forecast, and meet annual business plan financial targets, growth objectives and technical performance; identify, plan and execute business development strategies; and provide pipe-line development for top-line growth aligned with Operation and Group strategic plans.
Oversee development of space hardware and systems including IR payloads for low and medium earth orbits, space to ground communications operations and system sustainment, PNT payloads, tech demo small-sat integration and operations, low-TRL sensor advancement, propulsion (liquid and solid) systems development and testing, docking systems for human exploration and propellant transfer applications, environmental life support system sensors and system hardware, launch vehicle stages development, physical integration, and specialized testing.
Guide the division in developing innovations and provide Space Systems thought leadership with entrepreneurial mindset to work with our existing and new clients, developing and leading advanced solutions to emerging market trends.

supervision; conceive new and innovative ideas and solutions; predict potential outcomes, and
determine which alternative course of action to follow.
• Ability to establish positive, constructive relationships with technical and
functional staff, managers, and peers within the Business Area, Sector, and
across Leidos.
• Experience in identifying potential partners, developing teaming agreements
and working with other team members to develop a total integrated business
solution.
• Experience in leveraging IRAD to develop technology discriminators.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt
communication style to suit different audiences.
Required Experience and Education:
• BA/BS or equivalent experience with 15+ years of prior relevant experience in
program management, business management, engineering and business
development/capture or Masters with 13+ years of prior relevant experience.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience managing a diverse portfolio of
programs or a significantly large single program of high complexity delivering
products, services, and support with at least 5 years of space systems
development and program management.
• Experience supervising or leading teams or projects, working with a
distributed organization, over multiple time zones.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Annual revenue responsibilities >$150M with demonstrated portfolio growth
year over year.
• Demonstrated capture experience for captures greater than $150M.
