Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide IT systems administration, including planning for, installing, and maintaining computer systems, including physical and virtual servers, storage area networks and network attached storage on five enclaves.
- Perform performance monitoring and tuning, upgrades and patching, backup and recovery, as well as troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Develop and maintain schedules and plans for system updates and patching.
- Manage Group Policy Objects.
- Report on system uptime and SLA performance.
- Audit server utilization.
- Assist in building, coordinating, maintaining, changing, and updating, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for the five enclaves administered by AFOSI.
- Ensure that all application deliverables and systems comply with applicable DISA STIGs or Security Requirements Guidance.
- Identify and report system risks.
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in systems administration in a Windows based environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field desired.
- Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements). Microsoft certification a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Administration, scripting, and Windows configuration techniques. Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022; MS SQL Server 2016 and 2019; and VMWare ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN, and Horizon.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers with Microsoft Windows.
- Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects. Able to assess server infrastructure and configuration and identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
- Experience with security as it pertains to server infrastructure, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Must have experience with RMF and STIGs.
- Working knowledge of IT Systems Maintenance Compliance processes to include information assurance vulnerability management (IAVM).
- Experience creating, reviewing, and revising security documentation and artifacts.
- Experience administering servers in a virtualized production environment using VMWare vSphere 7.x or 8.x technology.
- Experience with Storage Area Networks desired.
- Experience with DoD IT environment and networks.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations.
