JOB SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for the overall accounting function's delivery of effective financial processes and controls that support business objectives and operational needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards.
  • Support the Company's overall business planning process with key inputs and an accounting system and operational processes capable of capturing information at a level that supports the Company's goals and facilitates decision making.
  • Perform regular high-level financial analysis to support executive initiatives, facilitate decision making, and drive business value.
  • Establish operating procedures consistent with the Company's broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution. Implement ongoing improvements in operating efficiencies and internal controls.
  • Ensure adequate processes and controls are in place to maintain, monitor and measure asset values in accordance with best business practices and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of USGAAP (and to some extent IFRS standards) and federal, state and local tax regulations. Partner / manage the Company's compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements, including the annual filing of federal and state tax returns; periodic filing of state sales and use tax returns, and periodic filing of excise tax; and miscellaneous tax related filings.
  • Manage the monthly close process including the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, financial statements, and internal reports, including the monthly executive reporting package and transmissions to parent co.
  • Oversee the work flow of accounting operations. Ensure accurate and timely billing and collection of the Company's receivables, payment of the Company's payables, and accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly reviews of all balance sheet accounts including a regular schedule for the reconciliation of every account on the balance sheet.
  • Lead annual USGAAP and IFRS financial statement audits with external auditors.
  • Lead annual Goodwill/Intangible impairment analysis with 3rd party valuation firm.
  • Perform regular high-level financial analysis to support executive initiatives, facilitate decision making, and drive business value.
  • Manage a talented team of 13 (2 direct reports) and facilitate development plans for the team.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; MBA or Masters in Finance a plus
  • 7+ years of steady growth in multiple positions, ideally in a CPG company and accounting leadership experience
  • Significant experience with at least one financial planning / management reporting system (Hyperion, Cognos, Adaptive, Host, etc.) preferred
  • Annual CPE course requirement
  • Certified Public Accountant

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $156,000 - 234,000/year, not including benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at FIFCO USA, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to enable future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package!
