Peak 1 Express: Dispatcher

Position: Dispatcher
Starting Pay: $24.00/hr.
Schedule: Seasonal Full-Time

Job Overview: As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient dispatching of vehicles, guests and guest service drivers to and from their destination.

About the Dispatcher Position

JOB DUTIES
  • Guest service
    1. Provide exceptional guest service
    2. Answer guest calls and create, update, or cancel their reservations as needed
    3. Proactively communicate with guests using text, email, and phone
    4. Address guest service issues or potential guest service issues where possible by coordinating with other dispatchers, drivers, and managers
    5. Escalate upset guests to management and/ or the sales team to ensure effective and timely resolution
  • Dispatch admin
    1. Monitor dispatch inbox - review blasts, new reservations, and emails, reply as needed
    2. Maintain records as directed by the operations management team, including the dispatch record and daily blasts
    3. Update Slack with real-time operations information and guest service issues
    4. Audit drivers speeds and escalate to ops managers as needed
    5. Audit driver routes and flag any deviation to ops managers
    6. Set up driver equipment for the following day, ensuring phones and wifi pucks are charged and all other equipment prepped for the start of their shift
  • Dispatch
    1. Handle same-day guest additions including updating routes
    2. Monitor drivers on the road and progress on pickups and dropoffs; clear drivers to the airport or mountains when they have all guests boarded
    3. Maintain contact with guests when drivers are delayed
    4. Update drivers as needed on current road conditions including recommending alternate routes
    5. Assist with driver questions, needs, and issues both in person and via phone or radio - ensure drivers have the resources they need to successfully complete their trips
    6. Assist Tier 2 dispatchers with daily logistics, planning, and troubleshooting
    7. Inspect vehicles pre- and post-trip - ensure drivers are held accountable to the condition of their vehicle
    8. Assist with auditing routing, vehicle assignments and transfers as directed by Tier 2 dispatch and management
  • Technology
    1. Learn and update all systems as directed by ops management
    2. Maintain knowledge of all relevant tech platforms and how to best use them to serve the dispatch team, drivers, and our guests
    3. Ensure Hudson is updated in real time to reflect operations
    4. Ensure Samsara accurately reflects the correct driver with completed DVIRs
    5. Ensure vehicles are accurately displayed as in-service/ OOS across systems
    6. Use Slack, MS 365, blasts, phones, radios, Podium, Hudson and any other communications tools as directed by ops management
    7. Assist drivers with their tech as needed, including but not limited to: Google Maps, Zello, vMDT, Samsara, and wifi pucks
  • Other
    1. Follow all Peak 1 Express policies and procedures
    2. Maintain a clean workspace and contribute to the cleanliness and comfort of the office (open/ close the office as needed, make coffee, put away dishes)
    3. Other tasks as directed
REQUIREMENTS
  • Have exceptional time management skills
  • Comfortable working with various forms of technology (phone, tablet, GPS, etc.)
  • Exceptional guest service and customer relation skills
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Maintain a clean-cut professional appearance
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
  • Be able to lift 40lbs
  • Highly computer literate
  • Possess very good multitasking skills
  • Great communication skills
