The Opportunity
The People and Culture department's focus is to be a strategic business partner to leadership and drive SCAN's key values. Through consulting, coaching, managing HR initiatives from start to end, and advocating for employees, the People and Culture Director will be the go to partner for the business.
You Will
Consult leadership on talent reviews, performance management, succession planning, talent development and other strategic business objectives of the organization. Develop and recommend specific action steps to help leaders address identified opportunities.
Execute programs to support employees and leaders, including talent management, career planning, performance management, leadership coaching, data analysis, compensation and rewards, learning and development, recognition programs and strategic organizational development.
Lead Human Resources programs and initiatives to build and sustain a company culture that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion and fosters working relationships based on mutual respect.
Responsible to solve organizational challenges through people-related solutions and serve as an integral part of assigned area(s) of a senior leadership team, to understand every aspect of the business and be a thought leader on human capital and organizational topics.
Partner with a cross-functional group of subject matter experts within SCAN's HR centers of excellence to design and execute your strategy for how the business staffs, on-boards, develops, motivates, retains and organizes work.
Provide insightful data to guide decision making and offer proactive solutions, solving problems and getting to the root cause of any issue, regardless of complexity. Consult with leadership to create comprehensive people plans to influence lasting and sustainable efficiencies.
This role requires strategic reasoning and thinking, use of data to guide work, being comfortable challenging convention and, in some cases, influencing leaders to reassess how work is done.
Responsible to be a subject matter expert regarding organizational and people related planning and execution.
Design and quickly implement solutions that cut across multiple disciplines, even those beyond human capital and organizational solutions.
Comfort in working with executive and senior leaders to be a strategic thought partner who not only supports but challenges business decisions surrounding talent and processes.
Actively support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.

Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field of study. A comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources is preferred.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP designation, preferred
5-8 years of experience of relevant work experience including HR experience, HRBP or generalist experience.
Experience in Health Care or another highly-regulated industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of California and Federal employment laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations from action based on the analysis.
- Strong ability to influence through strong relationships, expertise and data and the ability to manage a complex set of stakeholders.
- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done and the next moment, being part of deeply complex strategy discussions.
- Strong sense of the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Superior communication skills and understand how to communicate large, complex change.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruiting, compensation practices, and performance management.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters tactfully and professionally.
- Strong critical thinking skills along with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with staff at all levels to achieve defined goals.
- Ability to use Microsoft Program such as PPT and Excel.
- Familiar with Workday.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry preferred.
