Please note, this link is only accessible for MSK employees.  Job DescriptionThe Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences currently has over 45 full-time faculty with wide interests in psycho-oncology clinical care, teaching, and research. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. MSK provides excellent benefits including faculty housing benefits. This faculty position will concentrate on maintaining an independent program of research focusing on aspects of psycho-oncology clinical care. Applicants with a track record of extramural funding are preferred. Examples of research areas could include, but are not limited to, psychotherapy research in psycho-oncology, neuropsychological impacts of cancer treatments, digital delivery of behavioral interventions, symptom management, post-treatment psychosocial adaptation/survivorship, psychopharmacology clinical trials, pediatric psycho-oncology, etc. The majority of this position will be focused on research/academic pursuits. There are opportunities to mentor pre- and postdoctoral research fellows supported by our longstanding research training program in psycho-oncology. Additionally, there would be a lesser portion of time dedicated to providing clinical psycho-oncology outpatient care with a mix of in-person and telehealth visits. The position will work with cancer patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses and all cancer stages. This full-time position provides a unique opportunity grow an independent psycho-oncology research career at a premier cancer center while maintaining clinical contact.The ideal candidate should have: Candidates must have clinical experience and appropriate training in working with adult or pediatric cancer patients and their families. This search is open to potential candidates with a Ph.D., Psy.D., MD, and DO at all levels of career experience and appointments will be made at an academic level commensurate with the appointee’s experience.Applicants must possess a doctorate degree such as Doctor in Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Osteopathy (DO) or equivalent.Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice clinically in the State of New York (or must be licensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure in New York and New Jersey).Eligible for appointment at an academic rank ranging from Assistant Professor to Professor.Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.Excellent communication skills and passion for teaching.The ability to work in a team environment.Respect for diversity.
