Mercury is changing how startups bank*. Turns out this requires a lot of talented (and highly technical) people, so we are hiring a Head of Technical Recruiting to lead and grow the team that’s finding them. In this role, you will lead a team of recruiting leads, full-cycle technical recruiters, sourcers, and recruiting coordinators across Engineering, Product, Design and Data Science. You will partner deeply with our founders and technical leaders across the company to drive key programs and initiatives that enhance Mercury’s efforts to attract, recruit, and retain incredible talent.Here are some things you’ll do on the job:Manage, coach, and scale a team of high-performing recruiting leads, recruiters, sourcers, and recruiting coordinatorsBe a trusted partner with senior leaders across Mercury to understand their hiring objectives and develop team recruiting strategies to help them hit their goalsLead cross functional projects, reporting, and performance management for the technical recruiting teamEmbed yourself into the orgs that your team supports so you deeply understand their priorities and the business impact of your team’s workBecome deeply familiar with our current recruiting processes (and even be willing to work on active roles if needed)Drive processes to scale hiring efficiency and team operating models Originate and build a clear diversity strategy alongside technical leadersLeverage data to define success metrics, measure productivity, and inform strategic decision making You should:Have several years of recruiting management experience leading a high-performing technical recruiting team at a growth stage companyHave experience managing and developing leads/managersHave a highly empathetic, low ego and flexible leadership style Have recruiting experience across multiple technical teams (ideally some combination of Engineering, Product, Design and Data Science)Have a passion for sourcing and building passive recruiting strategiesBe genuinely excited by building creative programs and processes that help us scale and uplevel our technical recruiting functionHave experience establishing metrics, reports and dashboards to support your team’s goalsBe a trusted advisor to leaders throughout the recruiting process, acting as an effective hiring partnerConnect and effectively communicate with people of all levelsHave excellent verbal and written communication skillsHave a sense of humor (doesn’t have to be a good one)*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $243,600 - $286,600US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $219,200 - $257,900Canadian employees (any location): CAD 221,700 - 260,800We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process for jobs in NYC and certain features may qualify it as an AEDT.
