Physician / Gastroenterology / Kentucky / Locum tenens / Gastroenterologist Need

A large multi-specialty hospital is seeking a gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage. The facility is located in Kentucky. This position requires 100% inpatient GI coverage for 7-8 weeks annually, with preferred 2024 dates accepted. Coverage includes Monday-Friday (8-hour day plus night call) and 24-hour weekend call (6 hours included). Service averages 15-20 consults daily, managing unassigned patient consults and all after-hours calls starting at 4:30 PM. Two APPs are on-site during weekdays, with an APRN available from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on weekends. Night calls average 4-5 per week, with one typically requiring intervention. General GI skills are needed, including EGD and colonoscopy, with ERCP preferred but not mandatory; pill cam placement may be required. The EMR system is EPIC.
