The Wake Forest Health Network is a physician-led, non-faculty multispecialty group practice affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
Position Highlights:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with no inpatient responsibilities and limited shared on-call coverage.
- Patient Population: Diverse range of patients managing acute and chronic kidney conditions.
- Team Support: Work within a skilled multidisciplinary team, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and administrative staff, all dedicated to providing excellent nephrology care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat various kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, and electrolyte disorders.
- Develop personalized treatment and management plans for patients undergoing dialysis or other renal therapies.
- Educate patients on preventative measures, medication adherence, and lifestyle adjustments for kidney health.
- Conduct procedures as needed, such as dialysis catheter placement and biopsies, in an outpatient setting.
- Work closely with other specialists to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment.
Physician Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited medical school as an M.D./D.O.
- Successful completion of residency at an accredited healthcare institution.
- Successful completion of fellowship at an accredited healthcare institution.
- Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License as a current M.D./D.O.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Nephrology.
- Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing required
