Position Summary

The Business Leadership team builds strong client relationships that drive positive outcomes for their business. The team does this by immersing itself in the business, elevating strategic opportunities for growth, and developing media recommendations that keep clients at the forefront of the industry. This VP, Director role will be responsible for playing a strong supporting role in the pitch and act as future day-to-day business lead for new clients, while acting as go-to media strategist for cross-functional team and delivering energetic, effective presentations. This role will actively participate in new/organic growth for the agency through strategic selling of services, new business and/or through client business growth. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing the skill and knowledge base of those more junior as well as supervise, advise and counsel direct report(s).
Responsibilities

Portfolio & Growth
  • Build and strengthen mid-to-senior client relationships as a business partner and thought-leader to their organizations, resulting in top tier TRR score/client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate understanding of client's business/category and can apply to role of media.
  • Coordinate collaboration and business updates with Mediahub's Partnership Investments, Audience Science, Campaign Insights, Insights + Action and Radical + Disruptive, in addition to extended Mediabrands and Kinesso specialty teams. (Responsible for preventing siloes).
  • Support Group Director in maintenance of monthly MBIS investment and forecast tracking with Partner Investments and Client Finance
  • Partner with Local Investments, Kinesso and Partnership Investments to ensure partner consideration and, once approved, implementation of Mediabrand opportunities (Orion, MAGNA Deals, Performance products)
  • Listen to and summarize notes/implications from client earnings reports and/or Board of Director meeting outcomes and share with agency team and leadership stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Director and Associate Director to develop and consistently provide industry updates, performance insights and opportunities to Clients.
  • Elevate client work within the agency and partner with Growth and Comms teams to submit for awards and recognition.

Media Strategy
  • Oversee development of goals, audience and channel strategies, execution and measurement for 1-2 midsize client business
  • Kick off all teams with approved brief and collaborate on timelines, priorities and recommendations.
  • Set recommended budget by channel, working directly with channel leads to assess minimum spend/performance requirements and costing.
  • Partner with analytics team to determine measurement objectives and taxonomy.
  • Briefs, outlines content and provides feedback to partner and junior planners on presentations/recommendations/reporting and plan optimizations for client facing presentations.
  • Leads presentation of media plans to internal, partner teams, and/or client for approval and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Fulfill use of IGNITE planning strategy process (Implement business intelligence, Generate multiple audience segments, Navigate the investment, Tap into culture, Evolve with speed and precision) with client teams, to guarantee robust analysis of business/media role.
  • Oversee team running all planning tools (i.e. Kismet, R/F, etc), as well as partnering with Analytics to run any models, to determine the optimal media mix (across all channels) and plan delivery.
  • Partner with Insights + Action and Audience Sciences to develop audiences, profiles and strategies to implement and measure. When Insights + Action is not in scope, create audience profiles using Scout and implement within Kismet to inform channel mix.
  • Identify and sell-in opportunities for R+D, incremental I+A research/projects to elevate creative ideas, partner innovations and breakthrough consumer engagement ideas to drive client business growth.
  • Identify great work and partner with Comms/I+A/R+D/etc. to create case studies that win awards, win business and celebrate the work (internally and externally)
  • Bring Mediahub values to life by challenging norms, creating "never been done before", and pushing the limits of data-driven audience and performance insights.
  • Build presentations with effective story-telling to create engagement and buy-in to the work

  • Provide Business Leadership team with senior management perspectives, insights and goals.

  • Maintain regular team meetings and 1:1s to ensure information is appropriately cascaded, there are opportunities for discussion and feedback, and direct report goals/development plans are prioritized.
  • Elevate client work within the agency and partner with Growth and Comms teams to submit for awards and recognition.
  • Actively participate in agency DEIB trainings and events, ERGs, ensure recruiting / interviewing / management is unbiased, inclusive.
Qualifications - Required Skills
  • 10+ years' experience required.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency of cross-channel media marketplace and planning essentials (delivery levels, flighting, etc.), including Video/Audio Broadcast/Streaming, Direct and Addressable Digital, Social Media, Retail Media (if applicable), Print, OOH, etc.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership capabilities including developing team goals, providing recognition, providing performance feedback and shaping development plans.
  • Must be a proven national ad agency leader, with record of delivering effective, award-winning work and securing new business and/or driving substantial organic growth.
  • Proven ability to run accounts of $25-50M in billings.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 2-3 times/year for client and industry meetings, conferences, training, etc.
Qualifications - Desired Skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Build strong client relationships in order to develop a trusting partnership, more effectively sell ideas and contribute to positive agency evaluations.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and ability to think on your feet

The salary range for this position is posted below.
