It's up to you to make it happen.

What's the role?

At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership.

We are the Technology Finance CFO Group! Our team is responsible for the planning, management and reporting on all operating expenses, capital expenses, and people resources (employees, contingent workers, and consultants) for Bloomberg's Engineering and CTO divisions. In addition, we provide analysis, decision and execution support to our Engineering & CTO stakeholders, as well as to business and finance counterparts across Bloomberg. We aim to provide exemplary resource management, financial governance and customer service. Our team's resource specialists are integral to this effort as the Technology Departments continue to evolve and grow.

The resource management role will provide exposure to Engineering Leadership as well as departmental planning and daily operations, with a specific focus on position management. You will use corporate tools like Workday and our internal department-wide system of record to review, manage, and administer position changes, as well as to support various organizational projects, analytics and priorities.

You'll work hands-on with key stakeholders by educating and training Engineering team leads on self-service tools and sharing best practices on using our systems to influence business and process improvements for headcount management. You'll have the opportunity to build a network across the different Engineering departments, recruiting, and Human Resources.

You will also be an advocate for process improvement, providing insights through your comprehensive and impactful involvement in all aspects of Engineering headcount related activity. You'll take ownership for the management and improvement of processes that directly impact Position Management, data accuracy and governance.

We'll trust you to:
  • Perform Engineering position management by reviewing and processing Workday transactions and working with HR Recruiting and Position Management (Workday) teams on all aspects of position and employee activity for both individual transactions and larger organizational endeavors
  • Provide first class service to Engineering managers and act as a Subject Matter Expert in providing guidance on daily transactional needs, Bloomberg position management protocols, the use and impact of our resource management system, and any ad hoc reporting
  • Administer the ENG primary headcount visualization platform to ensure it is up to date and accurate. This includes monitoring data quality, administering position level attributes, liaising with our key partners, remedying outlying issues, and producing informative reporting
  • Be a key contributor to Team projects and deliverables, providing technical analysis, as well as regular and ad hoc resource reports
You'll need to have:
  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in Finance
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • The ability to confidently work with data, identifying business trends and be able to create insightful analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient quantitative, financial and data manipulation skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and stakeholders
We'd love to see:
  • An interest in Engineering position management
  • Curiosity about process and technology
  • Strong sense of discretion and an ability to handle sensitive data/situations
  • Does this sound like you?
