System Administrator III - HPC Support
This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.
The High-Performance Computing (HPC) Support Administrator will be the primary interface between the users and HPC engineers. This position requires excellent customer service, organizational, and PC skills, with the ability to triage help tickets, problem solve, analyze data, adjust priorities, and document procedures in a dynamic high-tech environment. The successful candidate will implement and maintain HPC systems spread across a wide geographical area, stand-alone servers, and virtual machines.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for System Administrator III - HPC Support: $96,000 to $106,000.
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

System Administrator III - HPC Support Responsibilities Include:
- Triage HPC help tickets and route appropriately.
- Resolve user help tickets related to system access, accounts, and resource management.
- Contribute to the execution and efficiency improvement of the HPC account management process.
- Track, escalate, and report on HPC help tickets.
- Serve as the POC for HPC user issues. Assist in Creating/Disabling/Tracking HPC project accounts.
- Manage complex spreadsheets to import/export, organize, calculate, summarize, and display data.
- Understand and implement accountability hierarchy for portfolios, projects, and user accounts.
- Receive, verify, organize, prioritize, record, and execute resource change requests.
- Provide regular status and progress updates to management.
- Keep users appraised of user-facing changes and system issues.
- Create and maintain end-user documentation.
- Assist with HPC report generation/dissemination (resource management, tickets, usage, availability, etc.) via documents, complex spreadsheets, and database report tools.
- Write and update procedures for all aspects of job responsibilities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
System Administrator III - HPC Support Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or IT or equivalent experience.
- Four (4) years of experience supporting highly technical IT customers.
- Experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment strongly preferred.
- Strong numerical analysis aptitude with experience managing large data sets.
- Experience using and configuring OTRS or similar ticketing systems.
- Experience triaging IT-related user help tickets.
- Must have excellent Excel skills or be able to independently learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills, including setting/adjusting priorities, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and task follow-through to completion.
- Excellent customer support skills.
- Eagerness to learn and collaborate with others, but able to work independently.
- Proficiency with PC (Microsoft Windows).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and standard utilities a plus.
- Proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools (ex: Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365).
- Excellent English language skills.
- Good technical writing skills.
- Encourages and facilitates effective teamwork.
- Attention to Detail.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
