Job Title: Game Capture Director

Reports To: Head of Game Capture

Engagement Type: Contract

Location + Work Policy: Pacific Time (Remote)

Rate and/or Salary Range: $600 - $800/Day

Role Overview:

The Game Capture Director will lead our game capture team, driving the visual style for a wide array of marketing assets in the gaming industry. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and leadership skills to produce compelling in-game visuals and narratives

Responsibilities:
  • Lead as the primary photographer, setting the visual style for games in various marketing assets.
  • Work with game debug systems and troubleshoot common build and capture issues.
  • Utilize game engine editors and tools to create unique and compelling shots.
  • Collaborate with Creative Leads, Editors, and ACDs on creative concepts and overall direction.
  • Provide creative direction and feedback to team members and external partners.
  • Train, mentor, and provide feedback to our team of artists.
  • Research and develop new in-game camera tools and capture processes.
  • Complete final image compositing and retouching.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to builds, PC workstations, and dev kits.

Requirements (Skills & Experience):
  • Expert understanding of photography (composition, lighting, etc.).
  • Experience working in game editors and with camera sequencing tools (e.g., Unreal Sequencer, Unity Cinemachine).
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom, and related Adobe programs.
  • A passion for photography, film, and other cinematic media.
  • Ability to multitask on tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
  • College degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • At least 4 years of capture experience at a video game company or external agency, or equivalent experience with a focus on static media.
  • Experience in 3D design programs (C4D, Maya, Blender) is a plus.
  • Understanding of game development processes and motion capture.
